Subconscious Mind : Inspirational Story as a Parent

Weeks ago I started sharing with Tariq the importance of taking care of what he see, read, watch and feel before he goes to sleep.

... it will all go into our brain, Tariq.. and it will stay there in your brain while you sleep.. and sometimes it will go into our dreams too.., I told him

Since then, once a while Tariq will tell me his weird dreams encompassing some characters from the book he read just before dozing off.

Then last night, Tariq said to me..,

... Mama, last night Tariq kan Tariq dream something really not good and scary.. Tariq think is because Tariq read the Marvel book before Tariq sleep...

... Tariq dont want to dream like that anymore.. so tonight Tariq want to read Quran before Tariq sleep..., said my little man

And just like that, he took the Quran and recite Surah Al Baqarah until he dozed off on the sofa.., while hugging the Quran.., MashaAllah TabarakAllah.. 😍😍😍

This is what I love about empowering Tariq with knowledge.

It helps him to understand what is going on around him and within him.

It empowers him to regulate his own behavior and take action himself.

And I am so glad and happy that I now know Tariq is beginning to understand and internalized what I have been sharing with him, alhamdulillah MashaAllah TabarakAllah

p/s: The scientific fact here is that whatever we read, watch and see a few hours before going to sleep will remain in our Subconscious Mind. And our Subconscious Mind is very suggestive and powerful. It stores everything. It is the secondary programming that runs our life without we realizing it. Examples like how we can drive a car without even thinking of the complexity of driving is an example of the amazing capability of our Subconscious Mind, subhanAllah.

So though I know I still cannot share with Tariq the concept of Subconscious Mind as it is too complex for his age, I decided to simplify it for him. And I am so grateful to Allah that Tariq understood it at his level, alhamdulillah 💖
