Tariqs Lessons During Umrah - Inspirational Story as a Parent

Alhamdulillah, this year in Mekah, Tariq learn a few new things.

Firstly, he was curious about why Mama pray with 4 takbir, no rukuk and no sujud after every prayers. So I taught him how to make Solat Janazah.

When I told Tariq that the reward for those who prays Solat Jenazah is one kirat which is like one Mount Uhud, he shrieked delightfully.

That big Uhud Mountain we saw in Madinah.., Mama..?, asked Tariq wanting to confirm what he heard.

Yes sayang.., you will get reward from Allah as huge as that Uhud Mountain.., I said.

Yeay!! Tariq wants to pray Solat Janazah now so Allah gives Tariq one kirat.., said Tariq so happily💖alhamdulillah.

 He also learns about Prophet Muhammad special toothbrush- the siwak! 😍

And in Mekah this year we got to spend many nights between Maghrib and Isya’ on the rooftop of Masjidil Haram.

We love it up there.

The windy cool breeze plus the view of Kaabah from the rooftop is simply spectacular, subhanAllah.

There, Tariq would read books of Prophets Stories which I brought from Malaysia, view the Kaabah and tawaf rotation, play happily with other small children and do his charity bit by distributing biscuits, alhamdulillah.

Then one night, after Isya’ prayers, Tariq asked me.., Mama.., can Tariq play longer with that very cute little boy...comel sangat baby tu..he is so cute.., said Tariq.

Then about 20 mins later, Tariq came to me crying..

Mama.., the Adik went back already with his mum.. Mama.., why Tariq dont have little brother.. Tariq wants Adik to play with.. everyone has Adik... only Tariq dont have Adik.., he said while sobbing.

I paused, inhaled and answered him..

Sayang.., remember Mama said we must trust Allah and His Plans for us..? Do you remember the story of Prophet Yusuf yesterday? Prophet Yusuf was thrown into the well by his brothers. Was he sad? Of course he was. Did he cry? Maybe he did. But because he loves Allah, Prophet Yusuf trusts Allah’s Plan for him is the best. He doesn’t know why that happened to him but he knows definitely because Allah knows it is the best thing for him...

Then I continued..,

So Prophet Yusuf trust Allah’s Plan even if it means he has to be inside a deep and dark well for many days.. and because he was in the well, the caravan picked him up, sold him to ‘Azizi and later he was sent to prison but in the end what he become? Ruler of Egypt.

If he was not thrown inside the well, will he become the Ruler of Egypt? No Mama..., answered Tariq still in a very sad voice.

So sayang.. trust Allah okay.. if Allah says you don’t have little brother to play with at home, it means that Allah knows the best for Tariq for now is to not have little Adik to play at home... Tariq trusts Allah, right?.., I asked

Yes Mama.. Tariq trust Allah!.., answered Tariq to my delight.

Then his face brighten up and said smilingly.,

So Mama.., can Tariq buy toys?

Omg!! Corner dekat situ pulak dia!

How did he go from wanting a baby brother to wanting a toy?!

There are times when Tariq sleeps too during the Tawaf and Saei.. Baba couldnt smile because his hand is now numb from Tariq’s sleeping! Lol
