The Story of A Man with The Most Beautiful Heart- An Inspirational Story to Handle Life Difficulties and Grievances

That day, i received a phone call from a dearest friend. Just from her first hello, i knew something was wrong. And i was right. The moment i asked her to tell me what's wrong, she started sobbing.

Ya Allaah, please give strength to my friend to face this difficult trial in her life, i whispered a prayer for her.

I remembered what Mother Theresa used to say,

Love, to be real, must cost - it must hurt - it must empty us of self

From the sobbing, sadness and crushed words, i knew she must really loved the other person.

As i reflected on what had happened to my friend during the day, i recalled a The Story of The King and His Minister i just finished writing for Life is an Open Secret- You, Me and We. SubhanAllaah, how sometimes we think that the things we do are for reason A, but, in actual fact, it is really for another reason.

Has it happened to you before, my friends?

Like when we make a wrong turn one day, and then discovered a new route, only to found out that a week or a month after that, that the new route actually became handy during our travels.

Well, that day, i realized that one of the reasons Allaah, my Lord has inspired me to write that story is so that i am better prepared for my friend who was grieving that day, subhanAllaah.

So, i told her a quote i took from my new book,

"Dearest, do you know that Allah has said this in His Holy Book,

"And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to the patient." (Al-Baqarah 2:155)

This is what life is full of, right?

And we are all like her, you agree? We do know that Allah has promised to test us with one, two, a few or all of the things He mentioned in His Verse. But, when it really come, most of the time, we are not able to absorb them quickly, right?

Our usual reaction as His weak beings, are to fall into sadness, shocked and disbelief.

But, shouldn't we look at what Allah said after He said He would test us?

Yup, He promised glad tiding, my friends! Glad tidings!

So, even if we lost something we wanted, we lost someone we love, we think failed to achieve our goals, we felt beaten in life, we faced financial issues, someone hurt us beyond reason, dont you think we should pause and stop for awhile and asked ourself- what did Allaah, our Lord promised us to happen after the trials of life come to us?

Yes, you got it! Glad tidings! So, there is no reason to make our sadness long, as these trials must come before Allaah, our Lord sent us down His Glad tidings, you agree? Think about it.

And you know something too? Only through these life trials, we are able to become a person who is more empathetic, more understanding of the sufferings of others and more caring towards other too, inshaAllaah!

Just like why we have to fast for one month during Ramadhan, right? Only after fasting, we could truly understand how the poor and hungry people felt. And the next time we saw someone poor, our hearts would drive us to help them out, right?

This was when i realized something.

Trials of life will come, my friends. It has been guaranteed by Allaah. And we must have patience in facing it because right after that, if we are patience, we shall receive glad tidings.

And because of that, dont you think we should smile looking at our broken hearts, our sad souls and tell ourselves, arent we lucky to have all these scars and bruises in our hearts because by them being there, we know that something great is coming our way?

Absolutely!

Let me share with you a Story of a Man with The Most Beautiful Heart.

Most Beautiful Heart

One day
A Young man was standing in the middle of the town
Proclaiming that he had the most beautiful heart
It was perfect
There was not a mark or a flaw in it
Suddenly
An old man appeared and said
Your heart is not as nearly as beautiful as mine
The young man looked at the old man’s heart
It was beating strongly,
But it was full of scars, jagged edges and holes
He laughed.
“You must be joking!”
He said,
“Compare your heart with mine,
Mine is perfect and
Yours is a mess of scars and tears”
“Yes” said the old man
“Every scar represents
A person to whom I have given my love
I tear out a piece of my heart and give it to them
And often they give me a piece of their heart
Which fits into the empty place in my heart
But because the pieces aren’t exact
I have some rough edges which I cherish
Because they remind me of the love we shared
Sometime I have given pieces of my heart away
And the other person hasn’t returned a piece of his heart to me
These are the empty gouges – giving love, is taking a chance
Although these gouges are painful, they stay open
Reminding me of the love I have for these people too
And I hope someday they may return and fill the space I have waiting
So now do you see what true beauty is?”

What is your heart like?
Did you protect it so well that it is perfect without scar?
Have you touched someone’s life today?
Sometimes it hurts but that is when life counts!

So let us all look at all the scars and bruises in our hearts, and realize that because of all these scars and bruises, we have a perfect heart!

And as i looked at my heart, i saw this one spot of deep scar from an empty space left by a piece of my heart i gave to someone. And i smiled as i know even though that deep scar is still painful and hurting me, it reminded me of how beautiful my life has become and the Glad tidings i received from it, as a sign of Love from my Lord rewarding me for being patience, alhamdulillaah. And like the old man, i still hopes and prays that the piece of heart i gave away, will be filled up again one day, inshaAllaah.

Look at your hearts too, my friends. And thank Him, for allowing the scars to be there, as it is a sign that His Glad tidings are underway towards you!

What an amazing feeling, you agree?

SubhanAllaah!

As Salaamu 'alaykum and peace to all,

Dearest Sis Ayesha Fatima, First of all, i have to say what a beautiful name you have, mashaAllaah! And you are absolutely right that we should love someone for His Sake only. And by having that, we wouldnt even bother ourselves too much if they hurt us, and the best part is that, we would really take care of the other person as we love him/her for our Lord's sake, right? And inshaAllaah, rewards and His abundance awaits us too!

Hugs and Salaams

Salaam, Sis Zabrina, I've been reading your blog since a year ago. This article really touched me & felt very familiar to me. I lost the person that I love most in this world last year (my hubby). I have given my heart away and it broke my heart to lose him. But I become much stronger each day by reading the holy quran, do know that Allah has promised Glad tidings at the end of the day. Lastly I would like to thank you for the great article!! May Allah bless us with his love, mercy and forgiveness. May Allah guide us in our daily life. insyaallah

As Salaamu 'alaykum and peace to all,

Brother River, JazakAllaah khayran for your kind apology. Thank you. But you dont have to. I can understand sometimes things happened to us, we got overwhelmed and would pounced on whoever and whatever that came thru our path at that very moment. And i seem to be happily hopping and giggling infront of you, at the exact moment when you were angry and upset. So, of course you got irritated! :)) dont worry about it. Life goes on and i do hope and pray that you are at a better place now, inshaAllaah!

Oh yes, my second book is coming out real soon- this 15th July 2008, and there is a story entitled The Story of Tornado. Perhaps you might want to read it! (p/s i say this is full sincerity and sisterly love)

Salaams and hope to see you here more often!
